Day 20-Roma!!!-Wednesday-2/16/11

This morning I woke up in a cold sweat still not feeling the greatest.  I tried to shower, but the water was freezing and very uncomfortable which only made me more cold :(  It was raining out which matched my mood perfectly.  I could have slept all day, but I didn't want to use my absences up for school already.  That would be lame!  I'm so happy I got a raincoat from my dad and Deb for Christmas because it really came in handy.  However, I learned that you still get drenched in a raincoat and I'm taking my umbrella with me too next time, not only that, but you get harassed by street people to buy an umbrella from them if you don't carry one with you.  Molly and I learned this the hard way, this guy practically followed us one or two blocks saying "Bella, bella, bella, bella!"  It was sooo annoying!  Molly made a joke about it by saying, clearly we don't look bella right now, so why would they even call us that?!  It was funny at the time, I'm not very good at repeating jokes though so that probably sounded really stupid lol.  Anyways I had class 9am-1pm then we went and looked for lunch.  We found a restaurant with a basement that was a little sketchy, but when we got down there Emily, Liz, and Clara were there from our group of friends so we ate with them and it really wasn't that bad.  Plus they accepted our meal tickets which are huge life savors!  After lunch Molly and I ventured to find Wind the store that sells cell phones and internet keys.  I freaked out a little bit because we walked down the same street where I had been twice to the wind store and this time we couldn't find it.  Molly kept me calmed me down though and eventually we found a different store plus an area that had super cute clothes :)  haha even though I don't like shopping it's still fun to look at all the clothes :)  After we walked around some more I found a store that sold notebooks so I grabbed one for safety and then we headed home.  I was only able to be home about 40minutes though because I had class again at 5pm which means I have to go to the bus stop half an hour before class.  I did this and of course the rain started up again, there were protesters on the street the buses were coming and lots of traffic so I ended up being five minutes late to class.  That was awful, but not as bad as it could've been.  I just hate walking in late.  Luckily, the professor was just calling my name as I sat down and she is super chill and gives us a 15 minute leeway because she knows the busing system of Rome is never accurate.  Class went by really fast which was nice, but after class I had to wait almost an hour to get a bus back to the apartment, at that point I was wishing I would've just walked, only thing is I wasn't about to walk back in the dark by myself.  Also, Chels and Court my other two roomates showed  up at the bus stop so I was only alone for about 10-15 minutes which was awesome because I'm a scaredy cat who doesn't like being in foreign places alone… now that I think about it, who does?  I got back to the apartment and finally decided to clean my room and put my clothes away, it looks nice :)  After that, Molly and I found a sandwich shop that accepted our tickets and we enjoyed a small dinner.  Once we got back to the apartment I was really tired so I wrote in my journal a little bit and went to bed.
