Day 21-Roma!-Thursday-2/17/11

GUESS WHAT EVERYONE?!!  I WALKED TO SCHOOL TODAY ALL ON MY OWN!!! I navigated very well and only got lost for a little bit around the pantheon which is right by my school so I wasn't too scared haha :)  It only drizzled a little bit too which was awesome compared to yesterday that poured! I just have to keep singing to myself "Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey, whiskey makes my baby, feel a little frisky, back roads are boggin' up, my buddies pile up in my truck, we hunt our honeys down, we take 'em into town, start washin' all our worries down the drain! RAIN IS A GOOD THING!"lol good ol' Luke Bryan cheering me up from all the rain we got yesterday! Apart from walking to school all on my own and it barely raining, I made my final decisions on classes today, which was definitely a relief :)  I have class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 11-12:40pm History of Italian Mafia and 5-6:40 Art & Culture in Rome and then on Tuesdays 2:45-5:15 Elementary Italian 2 a continuation from Florence.  It's weird only taking thirteen credits, well technically I already got 3 done in Florence so now I'm taking ten, the easiest schedule I've ever had!  It's nice though because I do want to travel and see as much as I can before my time runs out here.  I can't believe It's already mid- February!  Time flies when you're busy seeing the world ;)  Haha  Anyways, after class today…what did I do? OH YEA!!! I went with Clara and Molly to the grocery store to buy vegetables and wine to bring to our family dinner.  Clara offered to cook and have everyone over for family dinner as long as we all contributed something :)  Anyways we saw Emily, Jodine, and Liz there buying their contributions as well.  After we left we decided to go get some desert first since we weren't starting the cooking until about 7:30ish and it was still before 6.  We got gelato lol, I really need to stop this gelato thing!  Stupid sweet tooth I blame you!  I tried cannoli gelato and some chocolate/hazelnut one.  They love their hazelnut here it's weird lol nutella is everywhere!  I think I already said that though.  I was kind of disappointed in the cannoli gelato :-/ I think I just had really high hopes for it, but it wasn't very good, too icy and not enough flavor.   It turns out Jodine, Liz, and Emily had the same idea because they were at the gelato place too haha we thought it was funny because we hadn't even planned to meet there.  After gelato we went back to Clara's place, it's really cute and big and close to school! I'm jealous!  I worked on my Italian homework while she cooked and the other girls were all on their computers there was a lot of people over, every light was on and Clara was cooking.  I bet you can't guess what happened next...  Lol Yup, the power went out!  Hahaha! Luckily the stove still worked and I had the flashlight that dad gave us in our stockings this year that is super bright (thanks dad!) that we were able to get the table set with our pasta, tomato sauce, cooked zucchini and carrots, baked bread, and wine poured :D  It was a one of the best nights I have had yet!  Good conversation, good food, and great friends!  Plus lots and lots of laughter!  For some reason eating in the dark actually made the whole night much more entertaining!  We accidently bought more wine than we anticipated too so the giggles were definitely contagious :)  I can't believe I almost forgot to tell you about tonight too!  I'd be crazy to forget such a good night! :D Aww I love Roma!
