Day 23-Roma!-Saturday-2/19/11

I finally got to sleep in today and it was wonderful! :)  The sun was beaming in so when I woke up I opened the window and it was even more beautiful out than the day before which I didn't think could be possible!  It was perfect out!  A beautiful spring day!  I took my time getting ready and hanging out.  Around three Molly and I finally decided to go get some lunch and walk around.  Since it was so nice out we got a sandwich at a little café and ate outside.  We sat there for awhile and people watched.  I have come to the conclusion that public display of affection is completely normal here, it's weird.  I am not used to seeing people just stop in the middle of the side walk and share a passionate kiss or sit on each other's laps while lounging around.  Not only that, but I think almost every couple here holds hands when they walk around the streets.  It's crazy how different affection is displayed here compared to at home.  I feel like at home you are almost considered weird if you act like that, at least to that extent.  It makes me happy though to know these people are so happy :)  Anyways, after lunch Molly and I strolled down the street and just happen to find the Spanish Steps.  It was awesome!  We sat at the top of the steps for almost an hour just basking in the sun and people watching.  We barely even talked to each other, but words weren't needed.  It was awesome to just be there sitting in such a beautiful area.  I took a few pictures so I will post them :)  You will see what I mean!  After that we ended up finding out school book store so we got our textbooks.  That was a nice surprise because the sheet we got from school said it closed at 2pm on Saturdays and this was at about 4 or 5pm.  Like I said, accidental finds are the best ones :)  After the books store we stopped at an atm and a tibachii (which is like a gas station without gas) and I got a refill on my vodaphone.  We slowly made are way back home and now I'm just sitting here writing this blog and catching up on life with everyone on facebook :)  Today is a great day and I'm definitely getting used to this crazy city of Roma :)
